The Muse, the Mistress, Address'd to Mrs. K---- J----a,
While common levers common subjects choose
To praise the dame the shepherd calls the muse
Cupids invok'd, and all the graces by,
And beauty's Queens compell'd to leave her sky,
These are to acquaint Ignavus, that his letter and verses
came too late for the press; and likewise the person who
sent the Nuptial Song, therefore must defer them till
another opportunity.
